A preliminary tally of 2738 gobblers bagged during the 1972 spring gobbler season easily makes it a new record season, reports Game Commission Field Coordinator Kit Shaffer.
“This is already more than 500 above the 1971 total, a22%increase,’’Schaffer said, “and we expect a few more tags to come in yet.”
