Washington firemen make preparation for the opening of the annual carnival which begins next Wednesday. The four-night event will feature a parade Thursday and a coronation ceremony Friday for the carnival queen who acts as honorary fire chief for the following year. These men were mowing the carnival grounds located just east of the town on old Route 211. They are Steve Bailey, Jonas Alther, Donnie Foster and Jay Alther, handling a variety of mowers.
