A single car crash August 19 on Route 211 west of Sperryville involved Robert Bruce Brown of Woodville operating a 66 Plymouth. He apparently lost control of the vehicle on a wet curve, went through a fence and into a creek. Damage was estimated at $500.
DAVID J. MINNO of Arlington operating a 71 Audi was struck in the rear while making a left turn in front of the local high school August 20. Charles Edward Dodson of Sperryville in a 72 Chevrolet to make a U turn and was charged with improper passing. Damage to the Dodson car was estimated at $300 and the Audi damage was $1,300.
August 20 on Route 211 west of Amissville Henry M. Venie of Front Royal in a 62 Ford attempted to make a U turn and was struck by Sharon Hall of Springfield in a 67 Dodge. Venie was charged with failing to yield the right of way and damage was set at $100 to the Dodge and at $300 to the Ford.
