The red and grey shirted Casanova Polo Club added another impressive win to their tally by defeating the Fort Belvoir Polo Club of Alexandria six to four this past Sunday at their home field in Warrenton.
The Casanova Club in twelve games to date this season has suffered only one loss to Carlisle, Pa. The familiar red and grey shirts of Casanova have become well known on the East Coast Polo Circuit and the Casanova Club has been dubbed the “Rebels” by their opponents.
Taking the field last Sunday for Casanova was John Lyle at front, Jim Hourahan at number two, John Gulick at number three, with Joe Claffy at back. Belvoir took the lead in the first half of the game and the score at the midway point was three to two in favor of Belvoir. In the succeeding three periods Casanova came from behind to win with a score of 6 to 4.
Scoring for Casanova was as follows: Gulick 2, Claffy, 1 Hourahan 2, Lyle 1.
