Tyler Palmer, the top American slalom skier in the Winter Olympics in Japan last February, visited his parents at the Rappahannock Ski Area this past week. Dad Bob Palmer, left, is manager of the area — formerly known as Big Devil. Tyler, before turning professional, won three world cup races in competition with the best amateur races in the world.
