Ronald D. Hawkins of Washington operating a 72 Dodge owned by Orkin ran off the left of Route 211 in Amissville and overturned. The crash occurred about 8 a.m. Thursday morning and was investigated by Trooper G.F. Gregory who charged Hawkins with reckless driving. Damage to the car was set at $900.
The same afternoon two vehicles were involved in a collision just west of Amissville also on Route 211.
According to Trooper Gregory, Miss Marion Riley operating a 66 Ford Mustang was stopped on the highway to make a left turn when she was struck by Mrs. Marie R. Benesh of Baltimore, Md. The Benesh car was a 67 Buick.
Miss Riley was cited for improper stopping and Mrs. Benesh for following too closely. □
