VIRGINIA’S ECONOMY moved ahead strongly in August, and indications are that improvement will continue into future months, according to J. Gordon Gifford, editor of the Virginia Employment Commission’s magazine Economic Indicators.
“This month’s showing was the best since publication of the magazine began in June 1967,” he said.
Writing in the September issue, Gifford said that 16 of the 18 indicators used to measure the state’s economy rose in August, one declined and one was unchanged.
