projects approved
THE STATE DEPARTMENT of Education has announced approval of projects costing $318,502 for educationally disadvantaged children during the 197273 school year in the counties of Warren, Shenandoah, , Rappahannock, and Frederick and the City of Winchester.
The projects, approved by the Federal Programs Office of the Department, are financed under Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965. The projects and allocations are: Warren County — $64,736 to provide reading instruction for 335 pupils in grades one through three and in grade seven. Speech therapy services are included.
Shenandoah County — $91,577 to provide reading instruction for 370 pupils in grades one through three. Speech therapy services are included.
Rappahannock County — $45,940 to provide reading and special education instruction for 226 pupils in grades one through four.
Frederick County — $75,000 to provide special education instruction and other classes of special needs for 112 pupils in grades one through three. Speech therapy services are included.
Winchester — $41,249 to provide reading instruction for 121 pupils in grades two through four and six. Medical services are included. □
