Bear in town
Country comes to- town, you might say. Mrs. Charlie Jenkins happened to look out the door of her home on Gay Street in Washington Sunday afternoon, and to her surprise there was a black bear.
The animal ran off in an easterly direction and it was later reported that something had frightened the horses on the Davis property on Route 211 east. By the time the disturbance could be investigated the creature had vanished but bear tracks were visible all around the area. C
