Rash of burglaries
RAPPAHANNOCK IS BEING plagued with burglaries and break-ins in all areas of the county. Friday night or early Saturday morning a small house, Millie’s cabin, on the J.W. Fletcher property was burglarized and an estimated $1,500 or more in dishes, furnishings, etc., were taken.
The building is located on Route 522 south of Sperryville and was last used and checked on Tuesday before entry on the weekend. A reward is being offered for information leading to the solution to _ the crime.
A weekend home near Sperryville in Old Hollow owned by Stephen Poliak was vandalized recently and discovery of this was made Saturday morning when the owners arrived for the weekend. This property had been vandalized with water damage and the electric heat was turned on full blast.
Lombardy Lunch Room in Amissville was broken into last Sunday night and much of its stock removed.
