PRUNE EARLY FLOWERING SHRUBS NOW — Perhaps one of the best times to prune flowering shrubs such as forsythia, lilac, mock orange or bridal wreath is just after they finish blooming. At this time enough of the old flowering canes can be removed to open up the shrub and at the same time it can be shaped to suit your individual taste. Also, this allows ample time for the shrubs to send out new growth for next year’s flowers. □
