NED JONES, Board Clerk, gave the Supervisors a tentative budget for 197374 which, he said, would hold the present tax rate of $4.10.
The total tentative budget of $1,222, 152, which is up $97,863 over last year, includes a school budget of $876,667. which represents an increase of $82, 232 over last year.
Jones said the budget includes $79, 254 in federal revenue sharing funds, and a hold-over of some $50,000. “If you hold the tax rate to $4.10,” Jones said, “you will need a $60,000 holdover without cutting budget items.”
