NEXT YEAR’S eighth graders were given a tour of the high school Tuesday. They were conducted through the building by Charla Sisk, Kevin Day, John Summers and Angela Dennis. The group, consisting of four seventh grade classes were accompanied by their present teachers, Mrs. Baines, Mr. Penny, cMr. Graham and Mr. Burgess.
Expectations of the coming year and high school life was discussed with the group by principal Mr. Wingfield while guidance counselor Mr. Futtrell told of different courses and how schedules must be arranged.
As the group toured the corridors and classrooms, everything was fine until the bell rang and 500 students surged into the halls.
The Juniors gave the prom Saturday for the Seniors who seemed to enjoy the whole affair. The theme of the prom, “The House of the Rising Sun” was carried out in Chinese decor. Paper lanterns hung from the ceiling along with streamers. A huge green dragon on a red background belched fire and a backdrop for the band was a glowing rising sun. Ming trees and a small bridge centered the floor.
