Irl A. Daffin’s Selkirk moved up to take the lead, which he never relinquished, and came home three lengths to the good of Forsyth Stables’ Amarine, ridden by Warrentonian Jerry Fishback. Charles Hoskins’ Sword Cane was third. The gray Selkirk, who won at Atlanta and Camden this spring, is trained by J.V.H. Davis, who also saddled Amarind. Jockey was Leo O’Brien in his first day of racing since returning from a successful season in his native Ireland.
