THE YEAR’S AT THE spring and day’sat the morn; morning’s at seven; the hill ide’s dew-pearled; the lark’s on the wing; the snail’s on the thorn; God’s in His heaven—all’s right with the world. Or—spring haz sprung, the weeds haz riz; I wunder where the flowers iz. And—in the spring a young man’s fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love.

May I add this: In the spring, summer, autumn and winter an old man’s fancy seriously turns to thoughts of love. Well, not the same as in youth when the sap was running free and every lass was a queen, but with a love that is more inclusive.

Love IS love, and by any other name it is still love. There are so many things to love-children, kittens, dogs and people, God’s “critters.” And the things that make up His world; rippling streams, hillsides and sunsets. And there is that special someone. She is growing old too, but what is wrong with hair that has lost its gold or a brow that has grown less smooth? There is an inner glow that may be a reflection from that other shore.

God, love her and keep her in YOUR care.D
