JACOBSEN expressed thanks that Rappahannock officials have taken an interest in the Mount Marshall Fire Road to keep access routes to the Park open.
Visitors to the park don’t realize that “we’re a business,” Jacobsen said. “The park represents 15 million dollars in capital investments. We have 33 sewer lines, 54 water lines and five sanitary landfills.”
“The park has 71 fulltime employees and 151 /part time workers. During the summer or the fall foliage season, we’ve had as many as 52,000 visitors in one day. Over two and a half million people visited the park last year,” he said.
