RAPPAHANNOCK High’s girls track team broke six school records and three members qualified for state participation at the track meet last Friday at Strasburg.
Katie Pendleton broke two records; one in the 100 yard dash at 12.5 and one in the 220 with 27.8. She was also high scorer for the meet.
Other records were Mary Hudson with a time of 69.5 in the 440, Lisa Day in the 880 with 2:47.3; Lisa Day in the hurdles with a 12.5 and Maureen Day with 5 feet in the high jump.
Faye Dunn, Lisa Day and •Maureen Day qualified for the state meet in the high jump by leaping 4 feet 9 inches or better. This performance must be repeated in the district meet to obtain entrance to the state events.
