AS APPROVED, the project will begin just west of the North Fork of the Thornton River and continue easterly to the bypass of Washington.

As part of the arterial network of highways in Virginia, the project includes a new 24-foot roadway (two 12 foot traffic lanes) without side shoulders on the new roadway varying from 10 to 15 feet in width. The median separating the new and existing roadways will also be of variable widths.
