AMISSVILLE concluded its annual four-night carnival Saturday with the awarding of prizes, climaxing the event.
The grand prize, a 1974 Ford Pinto, went to Mike Corbin of Manassas, who has spent much of the summer with his grandmother, Mrs. Nelson Corbin in Amissville. Miss Mary Carter of Broad Run received the secqnd prize, a television set.
Four prizes, each a $25 Savings Bond, went to Connie Poston of Amissville; Charlotte Scott, Amissville; Georgette Lee, Arlington, and Lucille Cook, Falls Church.
A report on the prizes given by the Amissville Ladies Auxiliary had not been received.
Winners in Thursday’s parade were: best fire apparatus, town over 500, first, Centreville, and second Luray; same in town under 500, first, Orelan, and The Plains, second.
Best fire company and men in parade was judged to be New Baltimore and Middletown was the company travelling longest distance.
Fairfax was named the best appearing rescue squad with Purcellville, se- ’ cond. Warrenton had the oldest motorized fire vehicle in the parade.
