WHAT DO YOU DO when you wake up Sunday and the snow has covered the mountains and you can’t get out to go to church? Stay in bed and reminisce? Well, I did.
These words kept coming to me: “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” It doesn’t mention goddesses. When one is young and the sap from “the tree of life” is runningfree and “every lass a queen” it is easy to put a young goddess first in your thinking. But with advancing years one needs a “firmer foundation” than is found in the transient beauty of that young goddess, even though she is a mature woman now, having retained her queenly qualities.□
