Herbert Barksdale picked up on a comment Biddle had made earlier, that it is only a matter of time before the town of Washington is in a similar situation. “I can see several of these proxlems coming up in the future,” Barksdale said. “Why not go ahead with the county-wide system, since that’s what we’re going to need in the future anyway?”
Pete Luke hhought it would be better to solve the problems one at a time. Rappahannock’s relatively large lot zoning will preclude similar problems everywhere but in the towns. “And it’ss be better to have several small, no-growth systems that these big collector lines across the county,” Luke said.
WHY, when the Sperryville situation is so crucial, was the school board allowed to open a new office in Sperryville and add to the problem? Herbert Barksdale asked. Pete Luke said the school Board’s new offices in the Hy-Way Motel will not add any additional toilets, so it won’t add to the problem.
