of about 50 homes and other structures built in the county during the 18th century. A photo-safari will be held in the Elementary School auditorium at 8 p.m., Friday, April 23. A charge of 75 cents per adult and 25 cents per child will be collected at the door.
The evening will feature scenes in the county such as colonial ancestors might have seen, and close-ups detailing the frontier carpenter’s and stone mason’s art of the pre-revolutionary era.
Ann Robinson’s Culpeper Minutemen Flag will also be dedicated and an historic Colonial Map of Rappahannock which has been updated will be on display, according to Bicentennial chairman, Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr. The tapestry made by a member of a local Homemakers group will also be shown.
OTHER countywide Bicentennial events coming up include the pageant “Let Freedom Ring” on June 12, and Fourth of July “Country Fair” featuring 18th century games, crafts and entertainments.
