Man killed when
truck hits tree
Douglas McGuire Daugherty of Alexandria was fatally injured in a crash in Amissville last Wednesday when the 73 pickup he was driving struck a tree.
According to Trooper C. A. Moore, Daugherty was westbound when the vehicle went out of control and crashed into the tree on Route 211 about 7:10 p.m. Daugherty was retired from the military service and had formerly resided in Rappahannock.
At Massies Corner on June 14, Patricia Saltonstall of Flint Hill struck a deer damaging the fender, radiator, grill and hood of her car. This was investigated by Trooper Moore.
