Robert DeTreville Lawrence of The Plains, who has been something of a pioneer in local wine experimentations, agrees whole-heartedly with Frank, and has been trying— largely in vain—to enlist the help of Virginia Tech in promoting a wine industry for Virginia. He’s been persistant, and indications are that Blacksburg is finally beginning to pay attention. Undoubtedly, the Italian decision at Charlottesville will serve as a stimulus to this interest.
