Fireworks tradition
AS A PART OF THE Rappahannock County Bicentennial celebration, Mr. and Mrs. William Carrigan will again hold an evening program followed by a fireworks display at Avon Hall in Washington. The Carrigans invite county residents to join in this patriotic salute. After the extensive Country Fair which will be held in the town from noon until the evening, everyone is invited to gather on the hillside behind the courthouse overlooking Avon Lake for the evening’s entertainment beginning at 6 p.m. and ending with a spectacle of beautiful fireworks over the lake.
“Bring blankets, pilktws or folding chairs; bring a picnic supper, If you like,” said Mr. pirrigan. “Park on Gay Street or in the town and come via the town^monument. If you have food or drinks, please keep refuse or litter contained,” he said. “Because of limited parking at Avon Hall, no vehicles will be allowed to park at the entrance the driveway,” said Mr. Carrigan. “Rest room facilities will be provided during the day and evening for the use of the public.
