carnival
Amissville’s annual carnival is scheduled to begin tonight, Thursday with a parade at 6:30. The fund raising carnival will continue through Saturday.
The parade will feature marching units, fire and rescue equipment, individual and group majorettes, floats, antique and comic entries, and much more. Box suppers will be available Thursday at the food stand. There will be hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks and desserts on sale each evening.
Rides will fill the midway and there will be numerous games of skill and other concessions. Pri- zes will be given away Saturday night and the highlight of Friday will be the ceremony announcing the new queen of the carnival. She will receive a tiara from the outgoing queen and she will reign for a year representing the Amissville Fire Company in parades and meets. □
