The increasing number of women in Rappahannock who hold positions of responsibility traditionally dominated by males has grown by one more. Vickie Pittard, the new Methodist minister, joins a vanguard of lady laywers, blacksmiths, veterinarians and county court clerks in the assault on jobs usually reserved for men.
Ministering to the Methodist congregations in Flint Hill, Sperryville, Washington and Huntly is Miss Pittard’s first full-time appointment. She previously served an Arlington church on a part-time basis while continuing her seminary studies.
