campaign required‘for GOP governor candidate John Dalton to defeat Howell is very different from the kind GOP lieutenant-governor candidate Joe Canada must mount to defeat Robb, and vastly different from that GOP attorney general candidate Marshall Coleman must use if he hopes to best Lane.

As the tickets shape up, Dalton stands well to the right of Howell, Canada and Robb probably occupy about the same moderate conservative ground, while Coleman stands markedly to the left of Lane.
