Paul A. Poling of the A,missville Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad was elected treasurer of the RappahannockRapidan Emergency Medical Services Council at a meeting on Wednesday, June 27.
The Council was initiated in November, 1977. Since then, representatives from rescue squads, hospitals, medical and nursing societies, and local government have joined to promote improved emergency medical services through coordination, planning and teamwork.
In the coming year, the Council will study the existing emergency medical services system and determine where improvements may be made. The Council will also be active in sponsoring training and public education.
