Members of the Virginia Interagency Task Force on Smoking and Health, composed of representatives of the American Cancer Society, Virginia Division; the American Heart Association. Virginia Affiliate; the Virginia Lung Association; the Virginia Health Department; and the Virginia Department of Education, have reviewed Dr. Gori’s findings, and have concluded that previous research indicates that there is a risk in cigarette smoking, even in "low tar" cigarettes.
