Jay Miller of Washington, a member of Virginia Tech’s Livestock Judging Team at Blacksburg, recently helped his team place fourth overall in the National Collegiate Livestock Judging Contest held in Louisville, Ky.
Miller, a junior in animal science at Tech, along with four other team members, participated in the competition which was part of the fifth annual North American International Livestock Exposition, the largest event of its kind in the United States.
Competing against 180 other contestants from 36 universities across the country, with Gary Minish of Tech’s animal science department as coach, the team also placed first in cattle, second in oral reasons and was high team in shorthorns.

Mr. and Mrs. Edward W. “Jackie” Chadwell Jr. of Flint Hill announce the birth of a daughter, Jaclyn Dana, on December 2, 1978, at Winchester Memorial Hospital. Grandparents are Mrs. Bea Corder of Manassas, Mrs. Pearl Fincham of Front Royal and Jack Chadwell,' also of Front Royal.
