NOTICE

Pursuant to Section 15.1-431 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, and Article 17-3 of the Rappahannock County Zoning Ordinance, 1973, notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County will consider an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance of Rappahannock County and, in particular. Article 6 of said zoning ordinance, on September 4, 1980, at 10:00 A.M. in the Courthouse, Washington, Rappahannock County, Virginia.

Said amendment provides for uses by right and uses by special exception in an RS-1 district. Said amendment further provides for a minimum tot size of 5 acres in a RS-1 district for land under 14 per cent slope, a minimum lot size of 25 acres for land over 14 per cent slope, and for setback, frontage and yard regulations as set forth In Article 2 and Article 10 of the Rappahannock County Zoning Ordinance. Uses permitted by right in an RS-1 district pursuant to the aforesaid amendment are as follows:

1. Single family dwellings.

2. Accessory buildings.

3. Forestry.

4. Gardens (home vegetables).

5. Small grains and hay

Uses permitted by special exception pursuant to said amendment are as follows:

1. Agriculture.

2. Home occupations conducted by occupants.

3. Public utilities as permitted in an R-l district.

In addition to the above, the Board of Supervisors will consider changes In the wording of the statement of intent regarding a RS-1 district, which changes have been favorably recommended by the Rappahannock County Planning Commission.

The aforesaid amendment is available for public examination at the office of Clerk of Board of Supervisors, between the hours of 8:30 a. m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. All persons affected by the aforesaid amendment may appear at this hearing to present their views. This notice should be construed as a notice of intention to adopt the aforesaid amendment.
