Wakefield Country Day School’s families, faculty, and friends gathered Sunday in the splendor of the senior garden for the school’s 2008 Closing Ceremonies.
This year, the school once again celebrated its unbroken record of 100 percent college acceptance. The nine seniors who make up the Class of 2008 were the recipients of over $1 million in merit scholarship offers from colleges and universities throughout the United States.
The program began with a procession of the faculty and seniors to Edward Elgar's “Rjmp and Circumstance.” Father Robert DeMartino of St. Peter's parish delivered the invocation, in which he quoted from the Book of Sirach, and the audience sang “The Star Spangled Banner.”
