She said. “Now we’re finally growing up and choosing our careers. But as we make the greatest decisions of our lives, we should take a step back and consider what is most important. We could be completely consumed by our lives, our own desires, our own individual world, and our own happiness. Or we could choose to strive to improve the lives of everyone including ourselves.”

One final note before the traditional “ringing of the bell” Grove recognized the retirement of the school’s beloved kindergarten teacher. Kathy Nilan, describing her as someone who, “truly illustrates our motto, virtue and wisdom.” Grove then invited Emma Clark, Alex Shafran, and Matthew Wingfield, the three seniors who began their attendance together in Nilan’s class, to ring the final bell of the year.
