Late in 2007 when a dinner to
benefit the Emily Jane Hilscher Passion Award Fund was first envisioned, I had no idea what we were starting.
The Emily Jane Hilscher Passion Award was set up by the Hilscher family to honor Emily’s memory and is given to spirited young people in Rappahannock county who are excited about pursuing their dreams - the kind of people whose special spark Emily shared and would have recognized.
The outpouring of support for this benefit event held last Saturday has been overwhelming, from the Girl Scouts who folded the napkins, Emily’s classmates and friends who came from as far away as Arizona to assist with the event, and many others who contributed to the success of the evening.
Thank you to Beth and Eric Hilscher for giving their blessing and trusting us with the execution of this event. I am eternally grateful. And to Headwaters for their support and assistance with the planning and organization of the dinner. To Sally Cunningham who
