Good housekeeping earns patient seal of approval
Destroy mg germs and keeping the environment sterile is in important job at any hospital, but at Fauquier Hospital, our housekeeping staff does much more than clean rooms Brenda McCarrer. a housekeeper on the third floor, actually comforts the patients.
‘When ! come into a room to clean. I always irv to cheer the patient up," she says. "And 1 take tune to listen, ft's easy to bond with our patients because they’re always so thcodls .’’
For our housekeepers. It s never enough for a patient’s room to “look" clean. Brenda strives for clean in every sense of the word. She recalls the impact her services had on a recent panenr who was blind.
“Tile woman was'grateful because I made tier room smell so good. She looked forward to my visits and 1 enioyed talking to her We took her in like f'amtfy. but that’s how we treat ail of our patients—-like family."
