We secured two pure bred Jersey cows of rather promising conformation and dairy type. They were young, having had but one calf each. The first year no account was kept, but owing to the amount of milk produced we decided to keep careful account the following year. The cows were served by a registered Jersey sire and the dates recorded. In the middle of March one of the cows freshened and during the fore part of April the second cow dropped a heifer calf.
