Corn Club Trophy
With a record yield of 156.1 bushels per acre, J« E. (Jake) RJeyser received the Rappahannock county award at the 160Bushel Corn Club banquet Friday night, December 16, at the Lee Highway hotel, Sperryville.
‘‘Here, let me get a good look. . at that; it’ll probably be the only , time I’ll see it!” said Mr. Keyser when it was stated that the tror phy plate, presented by the Rappahannock Supply and Southern States, was to be won three years beforfe it became the possession of the winner. -Each year’s winner has his name engraved on the plate and the name of James E. Yates appears as winner for last year. James Silvey, representative of Southern States for the district of which Rappahannock is < a member, presented the trophy -to,Mr. Keyser. - .
Congratulating the county on the fine record in the corn club, John B. Hill represented the Culpeper Co-operative Farm Bureau which was high bidder on the club . corn at |7 per barrel.
