Garden Club Meets
In Flint Hill Thursday
Miss Katie Anderson and Mrs. James M. Settle were joint 'hostesses to the Rappahannock Garden club at the Settle home in Flint Hill on Thursday afternoon.
Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr., was appointed to serve on the judging and flower show committee.
Mrs. J. G. Revercomb reported that trash cans had been placed in varioes locations in Sperryville; shrubbery had been trimmed; and that the Methodist and Episcopal churches of Sperryville were planning to paint the fences as soon as weather conditions were favorable for painting.
Mrs. R. V. Snead reported 'that ^*'* the final payment had been made on the boxwood planted recently on the Courthouse lawn.
The club members voted to send a child from the county to the nature camp near Waynesboro. This camp is sponsored by the garden clubs of the state for a two week’s training course some time during the summer.
The program topic was on 4<party and 'Christmas decorations.”
The exhibits were Christmas cpnterpieces made of evergreens, candles, colored bulbs, ribbons, and various other materials. Mrs. S. E. Hening received the highest number of points on her arrangement, Mrs. E. M. Jones, the second highest score, and Mrs. R. V. Snead’s centerpiece was given the third ihghest rating.
