One December day in 1897, Virginia O’Hanlon wrote to the New York Sun:
“I am 8 years old. Some of my friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says if you see it in The Sun, it’s so. Please tell me the truth—is ithjert( a Santa Claus?"
The answer to Virginia O’Han. Ion’s question, written by Francis R Church, stands today as a testament reflecting 2900 years of faith. It is reprinted here because it always deserves to be read again.
