Washington 4-H club met at the school, December 12, Margaret Walters the president opened the meeting with songs syng by the members present. The song leaders, Pearl and Anna Woodard led tjie group in singing. It was decided at this meeting to see about sponsoring a movie to make money for the club. Newbill Miller, Anna Woodard, Lois Racer and Jean Hawkins were appointed on a committee to see about getting a movie. The agent shewed the group how to wash a sweater correctly. This club is taking, ‘‘Good Grooming” as their project, and, the subject of washing a sweater properly, certainly enters in on the project. Ideas were then given to, the group on what -type of presents can be made for Christmas. The members, seemed to like the idea | of making toys for the younger sisters or brothers. Most all the girls cut several animal patterns, which they will make as Christmas presents.
Mrs. Lois Miller entertained the Sperrville H.D. club, December 13. “Christmas Centerpieces” ideas were demonstrated by the agent. It was decided at this meeting that .the club would take ‘‘Stenciling Trays” sa their January demonstration. The women will bring trays all ready to be stenciled. The meeting then adjourned to meet at the home of Mrs. #; P. Snead, Jr., in January.
The Amissville Home Demonstration club was held with Mrs. Les Walters, December 14. Buainess was carried on first, conducted by the president, Mrs. Joe Hitt. The report of Vanilla and lemon extract sold by the club was given. Enough extract has been sold to pay for it, with a goodly amount left over as profit. It was decided that a box would be sent to a foreign family in January.
'In the near future the club plans to make some money by sponsoring a dance. The goal of the club is still a ‘‘community center,” and the way the .club is going, it looks as if it won’t be too far in the future. A demonstration was given to the club oh -Christmas centerpieces. The hostess served the most delicious chocolate fudge, Everybody present wanted the recipe.
Castleton H.D. club met at the home of Mrs. Mamie Leak on December 15. 'Since. Hie president was absent, the vice-president, Miss Emily MundeU, took over. A discussion was held as to the possibilty of having a square dance to make money .for,the chib. This will probably come off some time
