Outlook For 1950
How much money will farm families make in /1960? How much will they spend—and for what?
VPI (Extension Service staff members, who with other state and Federal officials have made a study of the ^matter, give this view of the money side of the ' i960 question.
Most farmers will find their incomes slipping from the peak years of 1947 and 1948—they slipped 10 percent in 1949—but there’ll J^lill he moi^fe money down on the farm than before the war.
Farm family spending probably will remain close to the 1949 level. Farmers have, generally, bettered living conditions the past 'few years—and they like it that way.
