Over the grapevine comes rumors of farmer group activities seeking establishment of a Diagnostic Laboratory of Livestock and Poultry diseases in Northern Virginia. One report i ndicates farmer groups from Warren and Frederick counties wish to see the laboratory established at the old Remount Station near Front Royal, which is now the home of the Beef Cattle Breeding Research Center. Points favoring this location are: existence of suitable buildings, equipment used 'by the veterinarian staff of the Remount Depot is probably also still there, arid a plenty of land. Probable--objaetions might include the possibility of disease spreading from animals brought in for diagnosis to. the animals kept for breeding research; however, after considering the spaceousness of the center isolation seemingly would be no problem.
