At present the diagnostic laboratory at Harrisonburg is the nearest to Rappahannock farmers and is about fifty five miles from Washington. Also it is not very accessible because of no regular freight (truck or rail) through Rappahannock, by which diseased poultry or livestock could be readily sent to the laboratory.
