Twin Calves Born
Two Consecutive Years
A Hereford cow belonging to Mr. and Mrs. Guy Burke, who operate the county jail, has given birth to twin calves for two consecutive years.
Last year “Peg”. .raised twin bull calves, named Amos and Andy, and also a foster calf which the Burke family acquired from a dairy farm.
On Saturday, January 14, twin heifer calves arrived and were named Betty Grable and Rita Hayworth.
The cow was purchased by the Burke family eight years ago from Robert Racer, and the twin calves which she raised last year brought top prices at the livestock market where they were sold.

In the case of the Commonwealth against Kinsey Atkins charged with the theft of a ham, heard before Judge J. R. H. Alexander yesterday, Atkins received a sentence of six months.
In the case of the Commonwealth against J. VV. Cave, an appeal from a Trial Justice Court sentence, heal'd Thursday, January 12, Cave received a fine of $.'58.6<3 and a sentence of two years.
