Features P.-T.A. Meeting
Supt. Q. D. Casque, as panel leader, introduced the topic "Freedom to Grow,” at the P.-T. A. meeting at Washington Monday evening, January 16.
The first and third grades tied for the number of parents in attendance.
Miss Wood, accompanied by Miss Lucy Mae Smith, sang “The Lord’s Prayer” as an invocation.
Miss Hazey Van Aden, visiting teacher, talked on “What is Growth”; Mrs. Eulalia Nalley, welfare superintendent, spoke on “The Influence of the Home”; Principal I). C. Link set forth the school objectives and the school program in “The School Provides Opportunity for Growth.” Miss Gladys Reid, a senior at Washington High School, spoke on “How Our Homes and School Have Helped Us To Grow.” The summary of the program was made by George Davis.
MRS. SEALOCK ENTERTAINS BRIDGE CLUB
Mrs. Zuleime Sealock entertained the Bridge Club on Wednesday evening at the Lee Highway Hotel. Club members present were Mrs. II. B. Winfrey, Mrs. Fred Schaefer, Mrs. R. G. Quaintance, Mrs. John P. Snead, Miss Louise O’Bannon, Mrs. Carfoil Menefee, Mrs. P. Lee Thornton, Mrs. W. II. L.vne. Mrs. George Taylor.
Additional guests included Mrs. Robert M. Menefee, Mrs. R.,E. Wood, Mrs. J. H. Aylor, Mrs. C. H. H. Branch, Mrs. Maude Gore, Mrs. Charles Estes, anil Mrs. Holmes Hall. The high score prize for the cl 1) was awarded Mrs. H. B. Winfrey, and guest prize was won by Mrs. Maude Gore. At the conclusion of the game a salad course was served by the hostess.
