The basketball game at Sp«rryville Friday night is the kind to enjoy. The whole thing is 'Rappahannock. so we can't lose. It*5 like watching twins in • a fight— and you’d better just watch, too. A policeman told the story once of trying to break up a family fight—they pretty near killed him. These two teams will play a fightin' hard game, anil each on* wants to win, but it would be interesting to see the combined teams take on a team from another county.

Let the Old Dominion and all its Miller School educators contemplate the sorry state of Virginia’s lack of history instruction in the schools—in Rappahannock no srch condition exists.
Sperryville School News for some weeks has featured a series of famous Virginians. The one this week is pretty obvious but Joseph E. Johnston gave a little trouble last week before he was identified for certain. Then this week the Little Washington Post went out enthusiastically on Lee’s birthday. Rappahannock’s young fry evidently has been well indoctrinated i n sound Virginia history.
Perhaps in a few—shall we say minor—instances, all the bert more regular rules of grammar are avoided, but that’s off the point. Particularly worthy of observance is one statement in the article on Robert E. Lee. ”... Federal soldiers which were in command of General Grant.” It could he that such an assertion is more apt than first appears.
It is a certainty that some teacher taught well that portion of .Lee’s life spent at Lexington.for the p pil stated he “worked.”
