Basketball—Tie and Win
The Sperryville High School girls afrnl the Marshall girls’ team team played on Friday evening, January 13. The .game started at 7:30. The Marshall and Sperryville girls tied the score at 2828. The Sperryville boys’ team and the Marshall boys' team played also. The game started at 8:30. The Marshall boys won with ascore of 54-22.
The ^members of the Sperryville girls’ team are: Captain, Barbara Brown; forwards, Barbara Brown, Sally Dwyer, and Dorothy Cloud.
Guards — Christine Jenkins, Louise Cloud, and Jean Brown.
Substitutes — B e a Jenkins, Joan Kelly Aylor, Joan Brown, Betty Snead, and Mary Jane Cornell.

Jr. 4-H Club
The Junior 4-H Club met on Monday, January 9. The meeting was railed to order by the president, Margie Dodson. The song leader lead the group in singing a few songs. jTv Votes were made on uniting ' with the Senior 4-H club arid having a dance on Janaary 27. A committee was appointed to help'prepare for the dance, t i- 4-H club sweat shirts were for sale to the.members of the club. The classes were divided for their project work. The older girls learned how to hem, and the younger girls were taught how to cover sewing boxes. All the boys received record books. The meeting ended with a few games.
Two Movies At S^H.S.
Until Monday, January 16, the pupils of Sperryville High School had had only two movies during the 1949-1950 session. But oh Monday they had a double dose of movies, for the basketball picture from the Universty of Va., which had been orderd last October, finally arrived^ and, the historical pjctufles about Virginia and Louisiana, presented by the Esso Standard Oil Company, came at the same time. These movies were educational, as well as enjoyable and free. The pupils all felt as if they were receiving a little “mental ice cream” after the “potatoes and gravy” diet of examinations, for the past few days.

The admission for the dance, January 27, was stated incorrectly, instead of plus tax, it should have been including tax.
