Contest Begins in State
A "Poultryman of Tomorrow” contest for 4-H club members is opening in Virginia this year. Denver Bragg, 4-H club poultry specialist, announces. -<
The contest will be open to all ■club members who are willing to 'carry a poultry project for two or, more years. The 4-H’ers will, be graded on their ability to brood and rear chicks the first,
year, Jnd their ability to care for ■a" laying flock the second year. Extra-curricular activities, such as participation in judging activities and poultry shows, also will be considered.
Announcement of winners will be made at the 1.9A1 state 4-H achievement day ^t Y.P.I. Prizes of $! ()'(), .$20, and $;"> will be made to state, distiict, and county winm ’ s, with smaller prizes to .second and third platings. A county must have three or more club members enrolled in the contest to be eligible for prizes. County agents can give detailed instructions.
