National So-and-so Week

January 12-21 is Idaho Potato and Onion Week.

January 1.j-22 is Printing Education week.

January 23-29 is National Hot Tea Week.

January 29-Februaiy 5 is National Youth Week.

Rappahannock -News shall take it as a serious obligaton to keep the citizerys of the county informed as to all such momentous occurrences throughout the ensuing year.

Since Idaho Potato and Onion week is rapidly nearing its close, it shall be allowed to depart in peace. The odor of the latter product could be overcome slightly, perhaps, by the perfume of a pun in an editorial entitled “The Leek in the Dyke."

National Printing Education Week is incomprehensible. The term “education” should imply an accompaniment of intelligence and everyone knows nothing but an idiot would be in the printing business! Perhaps the purpose of This national acclaim is to educate printers. Now, that would really deserve commendation.

National Hot Tea Week begins Monday. If it won't hurt your feelings any, let me sleep through .t. Perhaps it’s a Scot’s inherited abhorrence of a thine so English., but “hot tea" is so closely associated with being ill that it is now ■lassed with oastoi oil. Anyone who wants it may na\e my share.

To designate National Youth Week is superfluous Aii 52 of em are youth week. Trie energieof the entire- adult population are expended on youth. In fact, the way it look-, now, this worship of adolescence is running to the point where all the citizens are planning to remain perpetually the wards of their rich Uncle Sammy.
